COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRIC ADJUSTABLE BED BUYER'S GUIDE

Buying an electric adjustable bed should begin with much more than comparing prices. The right bed should fit your body, bedroom, mattress, sleeping position, mobility requirements and budget—and it should come from a company capable of helping you before and after the purchase.

That is why we encourage every adjustable-bed shopper to compare Electropedic. We offer choices ranging from traditional head-and-foot adjustable foundations to sophisticated fully electric Hi-Low beds, along with an extensive selection of natural, organic and latex foam adjustable-bed mattresses.

Why Buy an Adjustable Bed from Electropedic?
Los Angeles Adjustable Beds

Electropedic gives customers something difficult to obtain from a one-brand mattress store or an anonymous internet retailer: choice. We can compare different manufacturers, sizes, mattresses, price ranges and levels of functionality, then help match the complete sleep system to the customer's individual needs.

Price

Compare the complete package—foundation, mattress, size, options, delivery, set-up, warranty and service—not merely an advertised starting price.

Quality & Guarantee

Compare construction, motors, controls, frame design and the actual warranty applying to the foundation, electronics and mattress.

Service & Selection

Local delivery, professional set-up and experienced assistance can matter just as much as the bed itself. Electropedic offers conventional, luxury, Hi-Low and homecare choices.

Electric Adjustable Bed Sizes

Electropedic offers a broad selection of bed sizes and configurations. Depending on manufacturer and model, choices can include Twin, Twin XL, Full, Full XL, Queen, Dual/Split Queen, Eastern King, California King, Split King, Dual King and Split California King. Adjustable-bed lengths and special configurations vary by model.

Eastern King vs. California King

An Eastern King is approximately 76" × 80", providing more side-to-side width. A California King is approximately 72" × 84", providing four additional inches of length. Tall sleepers often favor California King, while couples wanting maximum width often prefer Eastern King.

One-Piece King vs. Split King

A one-piece King moves both sleepers together. A Split King normally uses two independently controlled Twin XL foundations, allowing one sleeper to raise the head or legs while the other remains flat or chooses a different position.

Dual Queen & Dual King

Dual adjustable systems can be especially useful when two sleepers prefer different positions. Ask Electropedic which current models provide the size, mattress configuration and independent control you want.

Understanding Adjustable-Bed Features

Zero Gravity

Zero Gravity elevates the upper body and legs into a supported reclined position. Many customers enjoy it for sleeping, resting, reading and television.

Wall-Hugger

A wall-aligning design can help keep the sleeper closer to the headboard and nightstand as the upper body rises.

Pillow Tilt & Lumbar

Premium bases may add upper head/neck articulation or adjustable lower-back support for more precise positioning.

Don't buy an adjustable bed by counting buttons. Buy the functions that solve your needs. Some customers need simple head and foot movement; others value massage, memory positions, USB charging or under-bed lighting; still others truly need Hi-Low height adjustment.

What Is a 3-Motor Hi-Low Adjustable Bed?
3 motor fully electric hi lo bed

A conventional powered bed generally adjusts the head and foot. A 3-motor Hi-Low bed adds powered vertical movement of the entire sleeping surface. This can be important when bed height affects getting in and out, transfers or caregiver access.

Motor #1

Powered head/back adjustment.

Motor #2

Powered leg/knee/foot adjustment.

Motor #3

Raises and lowers the entire sleeping surface.

The Mattress May Be Half the Adjustable-Bed Decision

An outstanding adjustable foundation can still be uncomfortable with the wrong mattress. An adjustable-bed mattress must support the body while remaining flexible enough to repeatedly follow the movement of the foundation.

Natural, Organic & Latex Foam Adjustable-Bed Mattresses

Electropedic specializes in natural and latex mattress choices for adjustable beds. Latex is especially attractive for articulation because it combines resilience, flexibility, support and a broad range of comfort possibilities.

Natural Latex Mattress

Consider support, resilience, flexibility, construction and the firmness that works best for your body and sleeping position.

Organic Mattress Choices

For shoppers prioritizing natural materials, compare the actual materials, construction and certifications rather than relying only on an “organic” label.

Choose Your Firmness

The correct feel depends on body weight, sleeping position, shoulder and hip pressure, support needs and personal preference. Firm is not automatically better.

Adjustable Bed vs. Hi-Low Bed vs. Hospital Bed

Conventional Adjustable Bed

Primarily changes body position through powered head-and-foot articulation.

Hi-Low Adjustable Bed

Adds powered vertical adjustment of the complete sleeping surface.

Advanced Homecare Bed

May add rails, casters, higher capacities, specialized controls and additional clinical-style positioning depending on model.

Electropedic offers multiple categories so customers can compare them before deciding. See Hospital Beds →

Bariatric Electric Beds

Customers requiring extra width or substantially higher weight capacity should compare purpose-built bariatric beds rather than assuming a standard adjustable base is appropriate. Electropedic's bariatric department includes heavy-duty electric beds, with models and capacities varying by manufacturer.
